In our capital, a 5-day seminar-training was organized by the Centre for Retraining and Advanced Training of Personnel in the Field of Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health and within the Global Program for Laboratory Leaders/Managers (GLLP) by WHO on the modules "Overview of a typical laboratory system", "Basic elements of a laboratory system", "Practical studies on infectious diseases", "Development of the laboratory system: perspectives" and "Basics of unified health".

The GLLP project for laboratory leaders, which is currently being implemented by our Center with the support of the World Health Organization, brought together the employees of the laboratory in the fields of health, veterinary and plant protection, - says Ural Shukurov, director of the Centre for Retraining and Advanced Training of Personnel in the Field of Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health. - In the course of our country becoming a member of the World Trade Organization, it is important to improve the quality of laboratory services and ensure the safety of products. In doing so, support local exporters and increase export potential by conducting quality laboratory analyses, strengthening the competitiveness of local products in the international market will further increase the prestige of our country in the international arena and strengthen our position in the foreign market. We also provide high-level training on emergency management and leadership skills. Our main goal is to improve the national laboratory system by increasing the capacity of personnel. We believe that in cooperation with WHO and other partners, we will make great progress in this area.

During the workshop, participants took part in practical exercises, interactive workshops and personal coaching processes. This enables them to implement best practices and innovative solutions in their fields.

- The GLLP program aims to unite three separate systems of human health, animal health and environmental protection into one single point, - says Dilobar Yusupova, doctor-laboratorian of the sanitary-hygiene laboratory of the Karmana district department of the Navoi Regional Department of the Sanepid Committee. -During these trainings, the participants were informed about the importance and relevance of the unification of "Laboratories in a single system" through modern interactive methods. We realized that the knowledge gained during the training can be achieved in the future when each participant applies it in their field.
