Corruption is an obstacle to the development of society

An event was held on the topic "Corruption - an obstacle to the development of society" in the center of personnel retraining and improvement of their qualifications in the field of sanitary-epidemiological tranquility and public health.

It was attended by the leadership, employees, and cadets of the center for retraining and upgrading personnel in the field of sanitary and epidemiological welfare and public health.

The event dedicated to today's topical issue was opened by O. Shukurov, Director of the Center for Retraining and Qualification of Personnel in the Field of Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health, and emphasized that corruption is a serious obstacle to the country's growth and development, and that the fight against evil remains the most urgent issue in all countries.

Speaking at the event, the deputy director of the analysis center "Openness and Transparency in Uzbekistan", candidate of economic sciences, Nodira Zikrilayeva, pointed out that in recent years, the issue of fighting corruption has risen to the level of state policy in our country, and significant work has been done to eliminate the causes and conditions that enable corruption, to identify corruption-related offenses in a timely manner and to put an end to them.

In particular, an effective mechanism for combating corruption has been created in our country, and institutional and legal foundations for ensuring legitimacy have been formed. As a result of reforms in other areas, regulatory legal documents aimed at reducing corruption factors were adopted in order to improve the normative legal framework for combating corruption, to eliminate legal gaps.

Also, the state policy to fight against corruption is not to fight with the consequences of corruption, but preventive measures are being implemented to prevent it. These include reducing bureaucracy in public administration, ensuring openness and transparency, improving the quality of public services, and digitalization.

The negative impact of corruption on the development of the society and its consequences, corruption and criminal liability, as well as the responsibility of every citizen in preventing it, conflicts of interests, etc., were given many examples at the event.

The expert who took part in the event emphasized that the state bodies and public organizations should work together to solve this problem, and attach importance to increasing moral and legal literacy.

Such activities serve to develop citizens' legal consciousness and moral values, and to increase their activity in fighting corruption.
