Five-day training courses on "Biological safety and biological protection" have been completed

As previously reported, the five-day training courses on "Biological safety and biological defense" organized in cooperation with the center for retraining and improving the skills of personnel in the field of sanitary-epidemiological security and public health and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) were completed in our capital.
The participants were given the basic knowledge and skills of biosafety, bioprotection, risk management and preparation for emergency situations in training courses attended by experts from the Sanepid Committee of Tashkent city and Tashkent region.
O'Shukurov, Director of the Centre for Retraining and Advanced Training of Personnel in the Field of Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health, who spoke at the certificate awarding ceremony at the end of the advanced training courses, noted that ensuring biosafety and biological protection in laboratory conditions is considered a priority task of national health. He also noted that it is important to further improve the biosecurity system in our country by effectively using international experiences, introducing advanced technologies, and training qualified specialists. Participants of these courses are expected to apply their knowledge and skills in practice and make a significant contribution to the protection of public health.
Specialists of the Sanepid Committee, N. Karshiyeva and G. Radjapbayeva, gave lectures and practical training on "Levels of biological risk", "Principles of biological safety", "Strategies to reduce risks when working with materials related to biosafety, types of biosafety incidents, structure of risk assessment" and other modules.
At the same time, the lectures of advanced experts in the field - D. Mirzabayev "Biological damage as an ecological and technological problem", M. Madaminov "Biological safety in natural and epidemic foci of extremely dangerous infections", N. Vakhobova "Principles of biological protection", "Basics of information security and cyber security" were heard, and the participants received answers to their questions.
The participants of the training courses also got acquainted with the activities of the Virology Laboratory of the Sanitary Committee. During the visit to the laboratory, the employee of the Virology Laboratory I. Zaitov explained biosecurity controls - personal reliability and personnel selection, deployment, qualification and training, physical security, laboratory equipment and inventory control, and waste disposal and decontamination.
The participants got acquainted with the working processes of the laboratory, while getting answers to their questions.
Certificates were awarded to the participants at the end of the training courses.
